Warning:

The work will talk about abortion and incorporate images that some may find disturbing.

The artist was initially inspired by the introduction of the anti-abortion bill in the United States. This prompted the artist to reflect on the current situation of women having abortions in the Chinese context. The work seeks to explore a new perspective on abortion based on a focus on women and a re-examination of female identity. Feminist philosophers such as Luce Irigaray and Judith Butler deeply influenced the artist. Beauvoir's The Second Sex refers to a patriarchal society and culture that dictates that women, as subordinate others, retreat from the family, school and society dominated by the male genealogy. The artist therefore pays extra attention in her work to their disembodied situation in a patriarchal context.

The aim of the work is to mentally relieve the guilt and stress of women who have to choose abortion when they become pregnant without their own will. At the same time, it is hoped that viewers who have not experienced abortion, both male and female, will be able to connect emotionally with women who have had abortions through digital empathy and better understand their position and feelings.

In her latest presentation, the artist combined illustration with ai technology and frame interpolation to metaphorically show the complete process of involuntary conception to abortion in a linear way. The video is five minutes long and guides the viewer through a constant speculation of future developments as they watch, enhancing the interactive experience for better visual and spiritual resonance
